So you would consider a good looking chick to be a priori boring or not worth it? How about blonde? That is something that probably irks me the most Otherwise, we don't know the criteria people base their own stats on, unless they share them. I am glad they do, there is a way to confront, discuss.

The funny thing is - we make very few rational choices, everything is gut feeling. We think we do, however. And those uber rational decisions rarely keep people happy, long term, anyways. Picking a partner, falling for one - and employing all the ratio there is, is an illlusion. How many would have picked differently, 20 years later. Most of us. Then one gets into a sticky moment and sees why people turn away, why things do not go as previously rationally planned.
I think it's all got to do with this awkward idea that we need a partner asap, we pick too rationally usually trying to date up, fixing some lack of self faith, or so.. We see ourselves as functioning, only if we pair up. It is a bit Adventure makes people happy. Self realisation.. OP should either perceive shacking up with somebody as a tantalizing adventure with all its risk somebody hinted at it here before, I'm agree and the whole fun being the risk and the tricks we play on ourselves and our shortsighted rational part, or look for this fun and adventure in something else.
